Dr. Leigh Stelzer
Dr. Leigh Stelzer is
an Associate Professor of Management and a former
Chairman of the Department of Management at the W.
Paul Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall
University, South Orange, New Jersey.
Dr. Stelzer has published numerous professional
articles on trade negotiations, joint ventures,
cross-cultural problems related to doing business in
the Peoples Republic of China. In the 80’s and 90’s,
Dr. Stelzer made extended trips to China as a
teacher, researcher, consultant, and member of a
trade delegation, lecturing at the University of
International Business and Economics (Beijing), the
Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade and at the
Guangzhou Institute of Foreign Trade. Dr. Stelzer
has published numerous professional articles on
trade negotiations, joint ventures, cross-cultural
problems related to doing business in China.
As the University developed its commitment to the
integration of computing into the curriculum, Dr.
Stelzer expanded the knowledge base of this
phenomenon with his article “Learning and Teaching
Management on the Web: What Do We Know?” (2003)
Additional research
addressed issues of the match of technology to
pedagogy and the employment of technology in the
development of higher-order critical thinking skills
Recently, Dr. Stelzer has turned his attention to
the effectiveness of public incentive policies to
encourage small business development and
entrepreneurship.
Other
areas of research and publication include: the
interface of business and politics, political action
committees, teacher rights, and, using movies to
teach business. He has also written for the New
York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the
U.S.-China Business Review. From 1991-1994, Dr.
Stelzer directed the school’s annual Business
Outlook Conference.
Dr. Stelzer is a former President of Beta Gamma
Sigma Alumni of Greater New York and a member of the
American Academy of Management. Dr. Stelzer received
his B.A. from New York University and his Ph.D. from
the University of Michigan. |
