Ann M. Mayo, Ph.D.

Ann M. Mayo
is in her sixth year as the
Director of the Center for
Sport Management and
Assistant Professor of
Management in the Stillman
School of Business at Seton
Hall University. She
previously served as
Assistant Dean for
Undergraduate Programs and
Coordinator of External and
Alumni Relations in the
College of Business at the
University of Nevada, Las
Vegas.
Prior to
joining the business school
at UNLV, Dr. Mayo served as
the Academic Consultant to
the men’s basketball program
at UNLV, and as an academic
counselor in the Department
of Athletics at The Ohio
State University. Her
dissertation research
consisted of a study of "The
Relationship Between
Athletic Participation and
the Academic Aptitude,
Achievement, and Progress of
Male and Female Athletes in
Revenue and Non-Revenue
Producing Sports at The Ohio
State University."
Dr. Mayo has
researched, consulted and
published in the areas of
Sport Betting and Sport
Gaming Regulation, Indian
Gaming Regulation, Ethics of
Sport, the NCAA and
antitrust, and issues
relating to sport management
in the curriculum. She is a
past executive board member
of the National Association
of Academic Advisors for
Athletics and is currently
active in organizing
business school programs in
sport management through the
North American Society for
Sport Management (NASSM).
She received her B.A. and
M.A. degrees from California
State University, Dominguez
Hills; and her Ph.D. from
The Ohio State University. |
