" ... Today’s students must prepare for tomorrow’s challenges by better developing their ‘people skills’.

Lyman W. Porter and Lawrence E. McKibbon
Management Education and Development:
Drift or Thrust into the 21st Century

Are you a strategist? Do you like to assess the future, plan for it, and then take action to make your plans work? Are you an organizer and initiator? Can you match the actions of an organization to the demands of its environment? Are you a people person? Can you direct the efforts of others so that everybody works together to achieve common goals?

If you find these questions appealing, you’re a good candidate for the management program at Seton Hall. The knowledge and skills taught in the Management Department are applicable to many types of organizations in addition to private business: such as government, nonprofit, international, labor, entrepreneurship and others.

The manager’s challenge is to reach organizational goals through the efforts of others. There is no question that those managers with better "people skills" will be better able to achieve and maintain high levels of performance in organizations. The objective of our management program is to develop individuals who are capable of meeting the management challenges. An outstanding feature of the program is the emphasis on the human aspects of organizations in conjunction with productivity-related criteria.
