WARSAW
On
arrival in Warsaw, meet your guide and proceed to your hotel. Balance of
day free to relax, change money and unpack. Welcome dinner with folklore
show. (D) |
June 27/Tue
-
WARSAW
We will
visit the Old Town rebuilt with great care after WWII, with its Old
Market Square, the Barbican, and St. John's Cathedral, Warsaw's oldest
church, the Jewish Ghetto Memorial and along the Royal Route to the 18th
century Lazienki Park with a beautiful monument of F. Chopin. Visit to
the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Visit to the splendid Royal Castle, former
residence of last Polish kings. Academic session this afternoon. We will attend a Chopin Recital
this evening. (B, L) |
June 28/Wed

WARSAW/Czestochowa/Wadowice/ZAKOPANE.
After
breakfast depart for the Tatra Mountains. En route, visit the Jasna
Gora Monastery with the Black Madonna Shrine, the pilgrimage center of
Poland. Continue to Wadowice, birthplace of Pope John Paul II. Overnight
in Zakopane. (B, L) |

Today you
will admire breathtaking views of the Tatra Mountains from the top of
Gubalowka Mountain. Departure for Krakow in the afternoon.

Morning
visit to the Wieliczka Salt
Mine, an unforgettable tourist attraction with underground walk through
chambers, caves, and chapels all carved from salt. Afternoon visit and lecture at Jagiellonian

Morning city tour of charming Krakow includes Wawel Hill with its
fortified castle and Coronation Cathedral, Old Town Square, and St.

KRAKOW/ Aushwitz/TORUN
This morning, depart Northern Poland. En route visit the Auschwitz
Martyrdom Museum of the former Nazi Concentration Camp. Stop in Warsaw
for lunch. Continue to Torun, a historic town on the banks of the

GDYNIA
A city tour of Torun, a marvel of
Gothic architecture and a UNESCO site. After lunch, depart for the

GDYNIA
Get
acquainted with the tri-city area of Gdansk, Sopot and Gdynia. In Oliwa
Cathedral hear a short concert on the famous pipe organ, one of its kind
in Europe. In Gdansk admire beautifully restored Old Town with St.
Mary's Church, Artus Court and Neptune's Fountain. Academic program in
the afternoon. Dinner with Kaszuby ensemble. (B, L) |
July 5/Wed
- GDYNIA/Malbork/WARSAW
Depart
for Warsaw in the morning. Stop in Malbork to visit the medieval
fortress of the 15th Century Teutonic Knights. This fascinating
structure is the largest brick castle in Europe. Arrive in Warsaw for
farewell dinner. Overnight in Warsaw. (B, D) |
