Lecture on Nation Branding |
|
Mr. David Saranga, Consul for Media and Public Affairs at the
Consulate General of Israel in New York will be making a presentation on
Nation Branding on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 7
PM in the Stillman School's Faculty Library, 6th Floor of Jubilee Hall.

This is Consul Saranga's Brief Bio: David
Saranga is currently the Consul for Media and Public Affairs at the
consulate General in New York. Prior to joining the Consulate in New York,
Consul Saranga served as Deputy Spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs in Israel, and was responsible for contact with the foreign media.
He previously served as Second Secretary at the Israel Embassy in Romania
and as the First Secretary for Media and Public Affairs at the Israel
Embassy in Spain.
Consul Saranga has both extensive academic
and private sector experience. He was a Manager of the Direct Marketing
Department, Visa-Israel Credit Cards and worked as National Sales Executive
at Kidum Ltd.
Consul Saranga has been engaged as an
academic since 1989, when he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Hebrew
University. Subsequent work has included one year as Director of Studies and
Lecturer in Marketing Management at the Open University in Israel.
The Consul began his education at Tel
Aviv’s Technical College in 1978, later earned a B.A. degree from the Hebrew
University Department of Social Sciences (1990). Consul Saranga received his
MBA degree from Hebrew University Business School in 1993.
The Consul prepared for public service in
the Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he studied Diplomacy and
Political Economy. Consul Saranga served in the Israeli Defense force
as an officer in a Communications Corp. He attained the rank of Lieutenant.

Summer 2006 Trip: Poland |
|
On Sunday, June 25,2006 a group of 31
students, family and friends of the Stillman School traveled to Poland for
an 11-day educational and cultural tour. The group, lead by Dr. Richard, J.
Hunter, Professor of Legal Studies, and Dr. Hector R. Lozada, Associate
Professor of Marketing and Director of the Institute for International
Business, visited Warsaw,
Czestochowa, Wadowice, Zakopane, Krakow, Wieliczka, Aushwitz, Torun, and the
tri cities of Gdynia, Gdansk, and Sopot. |

Second Workshop on
International Economics and Finance Student Competition |
The Stillman School of
Business Institute for International Business is proud to announce the
winners of the Second Workshop on International Economics and Finance Student Competition:
Russell Dover and Christopher Kisco.
Mssrs. Dover and Kisco, both graduate students in the joint
MBA-MADIR program, will be accompanying Stillman School professors
Yeomin Yoon, Richard J. Hunter, and Héctor R. Lozada to Hiroshima, Japan,
May 15 through 19, 2006. During those dates, and for the third year in a row, the Stillman School and the United Nations
Institute for Training and Research Hiroshima Office for Asia and the
Pacific (UNITAR-HOAP) are co-sponsoring a workshop on Foreign Direct
Investment for Development Financing. Participants to the workshop will include government officials from
Ministries of Finance, Investment Development Agencies, and Central Banks
from countries such as Vietnam, Singapore, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan,
Pakistan, and Kyrgyz. |

Stillman School's Institute for International
Business and UNITAR sponsor seminar at the UN |

August 23 and 24, 2005 |
|
The Stillman
School's
Institute for International Business and
the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)
will sponsor for the seventh consecutive year a two-day workshop on international economics and finance,
to be held
at the UN headquarters in New York City on August 23 and 24, 2005.
This
ongoing collaboration between the Stillman School and UNITAR provides a
thorough and intensive program in which participants attend sessions on
globalization, on foreign direct investment (FDI) from theoretical and
practical perspectives, on the role and impact of marketing and
intellectual property rights on attracting FDI, and on the assessment
and implications of risks on the infusion of FDI. The program also
required participation in two interactive case studies that addressed
the issues discussed in the sessions. In addition to presentations
by several professors and Fellows of the Institute for International
Business, the workshop will feature presentations from other
distinguished speakers outside the Seton Hall academic community. |

Summer 2004 Trip: Barcelona, Bilbao, Paris |

On Sunday, June 27, 2004, a group of 19 departed from
Newark-Liberty International to Barcelona to begin a 10-day excursion
focusing on the history, culture and economy of Spain and France.

|
On Saturday, June 28, 2003, a group of 20 departed from
Newark-Liberty International to Eastern Europe for a
historic, cultural and economic review of contemporary Poland and the Czech
Republic. The group included 14 Stillman School of Business students (13
graduate, 1 recently-graduated undergraduate), 1 student from NYU's Stern
School of Business, 3 participants outside of our academic community, and 2
Stillman School professors (Dr. Lozada and Dr. Hunter).
